Obituary for Frederick J. "Fred" Cooper

Frederick J. Cooper, 67, husband of the late Linda M. (Garrety) Cooper, of Zionsville, passed away, Saturday, December 13, 2014, at his home.

Born in Philadelphia, he was a son of the late Irvin A. and Matilda (Gentner) Cooper.

He was a Veteran of the United States Army, serving during Vietnam then worked as a police officer for Temple University.

Fred served as a Scout Master for Boy Scouts of America Troop #591 of East Greenville, where he did many community projects and trips.

Surviving are two sons, Timothy M. Cooper of Zionsville and Jeffrey M. Cooper and wife, Michele of Sellersville; siblings, Janet Fries of Philadelphia; Grace Halchak of Ambler; John R. Cooper and wife, Beverly of Pennsburg; Carol McCallum of Philadelphia and Jim Cooper of Philadelphia; and a granddaughter, Shayla Lynn Cooper. He was predeceased by a sister, Mary Bezanis.

A funeral service will be held at 11 a.m. on Thursday, December 18, 2014, at Mann-Slonaker Funeral Home, 222 Washington Street, East Greenville, PA 18041 with Rev. Robert A. Roncase officiating. Burial will follow in Holy Cross Cemetery, Pennsburg, PA. There will be a viewing from 10 a.m. until 11 a. m. on Thursday at the funeral home.
