Obituary for Franklin H. Smith

Franklin H. Smith, 86, husband of the late D. Jeanette (Wilson) Smith, of Green Lane, passed away on Sunday, July 12, 2015 at home.

Born in Lederach, he was a son of the late Frederick O. and Louisa (Kulp) Smith.

Franklin worked as an Inspector for Superior Tube Company in Collegeville, for 41 years, before retiring in 1991.

He was a member of New Goshenhoppen United Church of Christ in East Greenville.

Franklin was a life member of Green Lane Fire Company, and also a member of the Hereford Gun Club. He was an avid golfer and hunter and enjoyed sporting events and spending time with his family.

Surviving are two sons, Barry W. Smith and his wife, Sarah, of Old Zionsville and David W. Smith and his wife, Stephanie, of East Greenville; a brother, Willard Smith of Red Hill; 4 grandchildren, Tracy Gaydos, Stacy Carter, and Kellie and Heather Smith; and 6 great-grandchildren, Olivia, Cameron and Shelby Carter, and Leah, Ava and Anthony Gaydos. Along with his wife and parents, Franklin was predeceased by a brother, James Smith.

A funeral service will be held 11:00 a.m. on Thursday, July 16, 2015 at Mann-Slonaker Funeral Home, 222 Washington Street, East Greenville. Burial follows in Limerick Garden of Memories.
