Obituary for Robert M. "Bob" Kanya

Robert “Bobby” M. Kanya, 77, of Upper Hanover Township, passed away Thursday May 17, 2018 at his home. He was the beloved husband of Patricia M. (Mooney) Kanya.

Born in Philadelphia, he was a son of the late Stephen and Margaret (Toth) Kanya.

He was a 1958 graduate of Lincoln High School in Philadelphia and was an electrical switch gear for many years for L3 Communications in Philadelphia retiring in 2003 as a quality control inspector.

Bobby was a member of St. Philip Neri Catholic Church in Pennsburg, where he helped his wife with both the Liturgy of the Word and CCD.

He was a hardworking man and in his spare time he enjoyed woodworking and model ship and airplane building. He even built a car in school from the ground up which won him an award. Bobby also enjoyed being on the water in his sailboat.

Surviving along with his wife of 41 years are his nephews, Christopher, Daniel, Stephen and Matthew Kanya and his niece Justine Ziccardi.

In addition to his parents, he is predeceased by his brother, Stephen Kanya.
