Obituary for Alan R. Carl

Alan R. Carl, 87, of Palm, passed away surrounded by family that loved him on Sunday, June 21, 2020 at his home. He was the loving husband of Alma A. (Hetrick) Carl, sharing 65 years of marriage together.
He was born in Powder Valley to the late Samuel and Emma (Bartholomew) Carl.

Alan was a 1951 graduate of East Greenville High School and then started a career in steel manufacturing, working at Pottstown Steel Co., Bethlehem Steel, and then retiring from the Resolution Trust Corporation.

Alan was a member of the Lehigh Lodge #326 Free and Accepted Masons, a 32nd degree Scottish Rite Mason Valley of Allentown and a member of the Rajah Shrine in Reading. As an active member of his community, he was also a member of the East Greenville Fire Co., Salem United Methodist Church, and a past president of the Upper Milford Field and Stream Association. In his spare time, he enjoyed the outdoors, especially hunting.

Surviving along with his wife, are his two children, Kevin A. Carl of Palm and Renee A. Carl-Fegley of Emmaus; four grandchildren; and 4 great-grandchildren. He is predeceased by siblings, Earl, Samuel, and William Carl and Anna Ziegler, Edith Hagen and Dorothy Hagemes.

Services will be private at the convenience of the family. Arrangements entrusted to Mann-Slonaker Funeral Home, East Greenville, PA 18041.
