Obituary for Allen K. Tomlinson

Allen K. Tomlinson, Esq., 88 years old, of East Greenville, PA, passed away comfortably at home on Thursday, April 14, 2022 with his wife by his side. He was the loving husband of Arlene L. (Rush) Tomlinson, with whom he shared 65 wonderful years of marriage.

Born in Bristol, PA, he was the son of the late Horace L. Tomlinson and Edythe B. Zimmerman.

Allen was a graduate of Upper Perkiomen High School, earned a Bachelor’s Degree in Political Science from Gettysburg College and joined the United States Army where he served in Europe. After being honorably discharged, he graduated from Dickinson School of Law.

Allen was a Law Clerk for Judge Forrest of Montgomery County, an Assistant District Attorney for Montgomery County and was owner of Tomlinson & Gerhart Law Firm in East Greenville, PA; a respected firm where he loved helping members of the community.

Allen was a member of New Goshenhoppen United Church of Christ, East Greenville, PA, where he served as a Deacon, Elder and past President of the Consistory. He was also the past President for the Upper Perk Jaycees and the Upper Perk Lions Club. He was also a member of the Perkiomen Lodge 595 F&AM, the Shriners and the Scottish Rite.

An avid Philadelphia Eagles fan, he enjoyed attending the games with family and friends. He also enjoyed the outdoors, especially, playing tennis, hunting, fishing and scuba diving; he was a talented underwater photographer.

Surviving are his son, Barry J. Tomlinson and wife, Joyce; his grandchildren; great-grandchildren; and nieces and nephews. He is predeceased by an infant son and daughter; and his sister, Gloria Fiedler.

A memorial service will be held at 10:30 AM on Thursday, April 21, 2022 at New Goshenhoppen UCC, 1070 Church Rd. East Greenville, PA 18041. Family and friends may visit with the family from 9:00 to 10:15 AM prior to the service. He will be buried privately. Arrangements are entrusted to Mann-Slonaker Funeral Home, East Greenville, PA.
