Obituary for Barbara A. Appleman (Boss)

Barbara A. Appleman, 83, of Bally and formerly of East Pikeland Twp., passed away on Monday, October 6, 2023 at Elm Terrance Gardens, Lansdale, PA. She was the widow of the late Jerry L. Appleman.

She was born in Newton, Massachusetts to the late Adelbert and Mary (Coughlin) Boss. Barbara’s life was centered around her family. She was a wonderful homemaker raising her family and cherished the time she spent with her husband, children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren. She had a large group of friends and longtime relationships throughout the years and made an impact to so many people.

She was an active member of Pawling Independent Baptist Church. She served the Lord with a strong heart including working with the woman’s ministries. Barbara was active in local politics, former councilwoman in East Pikeland Township and was a member of the Valley Forge Council of Republican Women. She also served for many years as a crossing guard with the Norristown Police Department and had a passionate love for animals.

She is survived by her children: Brady N. Appleman and his wife Mary Lynn, of Fernandina Beach, FL; Brian V. Appleman and his wife Debbie, of Cherry Hill, NJ; and Kimberely Licata and her husband John, of Pennsburg; sister: Mary Lynn Boss, of MD; Peter and Wayne Boss, both in CA; grandchildren: Victoria, Steven, Thomas and Scott Appleman; Matteo Licata and Lauren Landis; great-grandchildren: Emma, Madison, Matthew, Luca and Millie & Bodie. In addition to her husband and parents, she is predeceased by a sister, Gail Boss.
