Obituary for Betty L. Butterweck (Baxter)

Betty L. (Baxter) Butterweck, 89, of Pennsburg, formerly of Green Lane, passed away on Wednesday, August 7, 2019 at Pennsburg Manor. She was the widow of William “Bill” H. Butterweck.

She was born in Marlborough Township on January 14, 1930 to the late Samuel Baxter and Emma (Wardle) Baxter-Walter.

She was a 1948 graduate of East Greenville High School and an office clerk in the billing services department at American Olean Tile in Lansdale retiring in 1989 after 30 years. Prior to that, she also worked at Harleysville Insurance for five years.

Betty was a member of Frieden’s United Church of Christ in Sumneytown and a former member of St. Paul’s Lutheran Church in Red Hill with her husband.

Surviving are her daughter, Beverly, wife of Noel Jacks; Grandchildren: Brian Butterweck and wife, Gina Lasky; Daniel Butterweck and wife, Colleen Hampton; and Elizabeth Ann Jacks; A brother: Curt Walter, Jr and wife, Mary; sisters: Bonnie Christman Krick and Patricia Ferketich; daughter in law, Karen Eppler Butterweck; and many nieces, nephews and cousins.

In addition to her husband and parents, she is predeceased by her son, Bruce Butterweck; and sister: Audrey Shermer Schueck.

A funeral service will be held at 11 am on Monday, August 12, 2019 at Mann-Slonaker Funeral Home, 222 Washington Street, East Greenville, PA 18041 with the Rev. Deborah Schwartz officiating. Burial will follow in St. Paul’s Lutheran Cemetery. A viewing will be held from 10 am to 11 am prior to the service. You may offer sympathy to the family at www.mannslonakerfuneralhome.com
