Obituary for Beverly J. Roth (Knapp)
Beverly J. Roth, 71, of Gilbertsville, PA, passed away on Saturday, October 8, 2022 at her home. She was the wife of John C. Roth, sharing 50 years of marriage.
She was born in Philadelphia to the late George and Lillian (Noll) Knapp. She was a graduate of Abraham Lincoln High School in 1968. She went on to also earning a Bachelor of Science in Elementary and Special Education from Kutztown University in 1972 and a M.Ed. from Cabrini College in 1986.
Her 35 years career with Boyertown Area School District spanned positions as a Special Education Teacher and Elementary School Teacher serving two buildings then moving into Instructional Support. Lastly, she held positions as Elementary Principal, Director of Elementary Education and Director of Special Education before retiring. In retirement she served several school districts as a per diem special education director.
She was a longtime member of Falkner Swamp United Church of Christ. There she served as Nursery School Director. She also was a member of the following community and education groups: Upper Perkiomen Business and Professional Women, Boyertown Teachers Assoc., PA State Educators Assoc., National Principals Assoc., Council for Exceptional Children and board member of Boyertown United Way. In her free-time she loved cooking and gardening.
In addition to her husband, she is survived by her sons: Evan G. Roth and wife Nadine; Scott M. Roth and wife Jennifer; grandchildren: Connor, Hunter and Lukas and sister: Marilyn Malley and husband James.
A Memorial Service will be held Sunday, October 16, 2022 at 1:30 PM at Falkner Swamp UCC, 2077 Swamp Pike, Gilbertsville, PA 19525. Friends will be received from 12 to 1:15 PM. Burial will be private for immediate family.
