Obituary for Charles R. Weller Sr.
Charles R. Weller Sr., of East Greenville, PA, passed away suddenly at home on Friday, August 21, 2020 at age 81. He was the husband of Geraldine (Adams) Weller, with whom he just celebrated 62 years of marriage on July 10.
Born in Boyertown, he was a son of the late Caleb and Edna (Clouser) Weller. After serving in the Army National Guard, he was employed for many years as a masonry contractor and in retirement drove school bus for Coventry Transportation.
Mr. Weller was a member of Pennsburg United Church of Christ, VFW and was a former firefighter and fire police volunteer at Pennsburg Fire Company. He also was a former member of the Hereford Gun Club.
In addition to his wife, he is survived by his children and spouses: Barbara, wife of Michael Benfield; Charlene, wife of Robert Heinrichs; Sherry, wife of John Haas; Charles Jr., husband of Donna Weller; David, husband of Lisa Weller; and Jonathan, husband of Tara Weller; Siblings: Harvey Weller, Arthur, husband of Dolly Weller; and Robert Weller, 15 grandchildren, great-grandchildren and many nieces and nephews. He also preceded in death by a daughter, Wanda, late wife of Dale Nyce, siblings: Betty Dawson, Ernie Weller, Joanna Schwoyer, Gerald Weller and infants, Barbara Jean and Anna Mae Weller.
A viewing will be held on Wednesday, August 26, 2020 from 9-11 AM at Mann-Slonaker Funeral Home, 222 Washington St., East Greenville. CDC and State Guidelines for inside gatherings will be observed including masks for attendance. A service for the immediate family will follow. Friends and extended family are invited to regather for a public graveside service at 12:00 PM at Pennsburg UCC 755 Main Street, Pennsburg, PA 18073 followed by a reception at Macoby Run Golf Club.
