Obituary for Charles E Christy
Charles E. Christy, 61, of Pennsburg, passed away on Thursday, April 9, 2020 at his home surrounded by family after fighting a courageous battle with cancer. He was the loving husband of Carol J. (Lawson) Christy, sharing 39 years of marriage together.
Born in Lansdale on January 20, 1959, he was the son of Charles A. and Gabriella (Ziller) Christy of Egg Harbor Township, NJ.
Charles was a 1977 graduate of North Penn High School and attended Montgomery County Community College. Charles held many jobs throughout his career. He started off at Safeguard as a printing press operator for 25 years, moved to Kelly Ford in Allentown for 10 years and then retired from Weichert Reality in 2018.
He was a member of St. Philip Neri R.C. Church in Pennsburg and an administrator for the East Penn Hill news facebook page. Charles had a giving heart and volunteered his time with the Special Olympics and Heart of Surfing. He also loved his four boys and participated in coaching their little league teams and was involved with their cub scout troops when they were younger.
Surviving in addition to his wife and parents, are his four sons, Matthew C. Christy of Pennsburg, Patrick J. Christy and girlfriend, Caly Zmijewski of Crown Point, IN, Shawn L. Christy and wife, Katie, granddaughter, Juliette W. Christy; of Pottstown, PA and son Brian E. Christy and wife, Taylor of Green Lane, PA; a brother, Thomas Christy; a sister, Cynthia Fertsch; a brother in law, Doug Lawson; and many nieces and nephews.
Due to the unprecedented circumstances presented by the COVID-19, Charles’s celebration of life will be announced at a later date.
