Obituary for Charles Edward Mosheim

Charles Edward Mosheim, 83, of Zionsville, passed away on Wednesday, August 5, 2020 at Lehigh Valley Hospital Cedar Crest. He was the loving husband of Marilyn H. (Oppelt) Mosheim, sharing 62 years of marriage together.

Born in Pottstown, he was the son of the late Charles S. and Frances (Shaner) Mosheim.

Ed was a 1954 graduate of Upper Perkiomen High School and a 1958 PI KAPPA PHI graduate of Penn State University where he earned a bachelor’s degree in Chemistry. He was a chemist that handled rare medals for Cabot Corporation in Boyertown for 45 years.

Ed was also a member of the Upper Perkiomen School Board for 22 years, serving as a past president. He enjoyed stamp and rock collecting, tracing family genealogies, and golfing. He especially enjoyed traveling the world with his wife experiencing new countries and forming new friendships. They were lucky enough to travel to China, Australia, Brazil and many other places outside the United States. He also was a local historian of Hereford Township, writing the book “Early Times in Hereford Township”.

Surviving along with his wife are his two children, Lisa A. Mosheim and husband, Paul Farrington of Barto and David E. Mosheim and wife, Marlene of Fleetwood; two grandchildren, Levi David and Marilyn Elizabeth Mosheim; a great-grandson, Indiana Edward; and his sister, Marlyn Fletcher and her husband, Jack of Great Falls, MT.

A memorial visitation will be held on Saturday, August 15, 2020 from 1:00 – 2:30 PM at Mann-Slonaker
Funeral Home, 222 Washington St., East Greenville, PA 18041. We kindly ask that all guests follow the CDC guidelines by wearing masks and practice social distancing.
