Obituary for Claude L. Croissette

Claude L. Croissette, 97, of Red Hill, passed away on Friday, April 2, 2021 at Quakertown Center. He was the widower of Jean L. (Sell) Croissette, with whom he shared 72 years of marriage before her passing in 2016.

He was born in Argus, Bucks County to the late Walter G. and Sara Jane (Haines) Croissette. He was a World War II veteran. Claude was a carpenter and welder, working for Charles Roberts Contracting of Palm, Berman Leasing of Pennsburg and Gronert Welding of Red Hill before retiring.

He was a member of St. Paul’s Lutheran Church Red Hill, where he also attended the church lunch bunch. He also was a member of Sellersville VFW and enjoyed crafting, woodworking and building go karts. He was a handyman who could fix anything. He also loved vacationing at this cabin at Pecks Pond, PA.

Surviving are his children: Cheryl Weiss (Larry) of Dingmans Ferry; Diane Schantz, of Pennsburg; and Timothy Croissette (Janis), of Barto. There are also six grandchildren: Yvonne Shoemaker (Rodney), Brock Weiss (Sylvia), Drew Weiss (Laurie) Ryan Schantz, and Shaun and Darin Croissette; 9 great-grandchildren: Landon, Ethan, Olivia, Colin, Blake, Matthew, Jacob, Jack and Justin; brother-in-law, James Sell, of Red Hill; sisters-in-law: Betty and Romaine Croissette and many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by a granddaughter, Kelly Sell; son-in-law, Robert Schantz and siblings: Nellie and Florence Weller, Elizabeth Allem, Jennie Fields and Walter, Charles, James, Joseph, Richard, John and Thomas Croissette.

A viewing will be held on Monday, April 12, 2021 from 9:30-11:00 am at Mann-Slonaker Funeral Home, 222 Washington St., East Greenville, PA. A private graveside service for family will follow.
