Obituary for Claude M. Walter

Claude M. Walter, 67, of Pennsburg, passed away peacefully at home surrounded by his family on Saturday, February 22, 2020. He was the loving husband of Patricia L. (Mack) Walter, sharing 45 years of marriage together this past October.

Born in Sellersville, he was the son of the late Russell B. and Mary R. (Schnabel) Walter.
Claude was a 1970 graduate of Upper Perkiomen High School and went on to work for Cook Specialty in Green Lane as a TIG welder for 39 years and then retiring from Judson-Smith in Boyertown in 2017.

He was a member of St. Paul’s Evangelical Lutheran Church in Red Hill where he served as the Sunday School Superintendent for many years and assisted in preparing the ceramic nativity sets for the Sunday school children. Claude enjoyed traveling, taking family trips, hosting picnics and grilling; but his greatest joy came from spending time with his grandchildren.

Surviving are his three children, Angela Sole and husband Christopher of Quakertown, Nicole Walter and husband Kevin Virus of Barto, and Jonathan Walter and wife Amy of Gilbertsville; seven grandchildren, William and Alexandria Sole, Avah and Eric Virus, and Jacob, Cora and Joshua Walter; and his twin brother, Clark Walter and wife Deborah of East Greenville. He is predeceased by two brothers, John and James Walter.

A memorial service will be held at 11 a.m. on Saturday, February 29, 2020 St. Paul’s Evangelical Lutheran Church, 1244 St. Paul’s Church Rd., Pennsburg, PA 18073 with Rev. Wayne Moritz officiating. Family and friends are invited to call from 9:30 to 10:45 a.m. at the church prior to the services. Burial will be private at the convenience of the family.
