Obituary for Daniel L. Desch
Daniel L. Desch of East Greenville, passed away on Tuesday, July 13, 2021 at Good Shepherd Specialty Hospital in Bethlehem. He was 61 years old. He was the loving husband of Shirl (Tarantino) Desch; they shared almost 38 years of marriage together.
Born in Allentown, he was the son of Myrtle F. (Schoenly) Desch and the late Robert H. Desch.
Dan was the owner and operator of South Mall Mercantile in Allentown. In his spare time, he enjoyed collecting antiques.
Dan was very passionate about his faith. His love for Jesus spilled over into every aspect of his life. He lived his life with an incredible hope in the restoring and redeeming power of Jesus Christ. 2 Timothy 4:7 "I have fought a good fight, I have finished my course, I have kept the faith".
In addition to his wife and mother, he is survived by his two brothers, David Desch and Paul Desch and wife, Beth.
A viewing will be held Monday evening July 26, 2021 from 6 to 8 PM at Mann-Slonaker Funeral Home, 222 Washington St., East Greenville, PA 18041 and the next morning, July 27, 2021 from 9:30 to 10:30 at Butter Valley Community Church, 2600 Old Rte 100, Bally, PA 19503 with a funeral service following. A burial in Butter Valley will follow the service.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made in his memory to We Care Prison Ministry, 3493 Highway 21, Atmore, AL 36502.
