Dennis W. Bolognese, 72, of Perkiomenville, passed away peacefully on Friday, February 1, 2019 at Frederick Living. He was the loving husband of Margaret “Peg” M. (Weckerly) Bolognese, celebrating 49 ½ years of marriage.

Born in Philadelphia County, he was the son of the late Ralph A. and Elva M. (Keiter) Bolognese.

Dennis was a 1964 graduate of Boyertown High School and did some undergraduate work at Ursinus College in Collegeville. He was an electrician for 53 years and owned his own business for over 40 of those years.

Dennis served as Fire Chief of the Upper Frederick Fire Volunteer Company for over 40 years, and he was also the Upper Frederick Township Fire Marshal. He, along with his wife, were also members of the Adams County Snowmobile Club.

Surviving along with his wife, are his children, Jennifer, wife of Ron Andrews of Schwenksville and Jeffrey Bolognese and husband, Rob Bolognese of Macungie; and his sister, Theresa, wife of Mike Carter of Norfolk, VA.

A celebration of life will be held 12 PM to 2:30 PM on Sunday, February 10, 2019 at New Hanover Fire Company, 2154 Swamp Pike, Gilbertsville, PA 19525. Arrangements entrusted to Mann-Slonaker Funeral Home, 222 Washington St., East Greenville, PA 18041. Offer sympathy to the family at

I did not know Dennis or his family but needed to send my respect for a man that devoted 40 years to a community. They don't make men like that anymore and I am sure his family was proud. My deepest sympathy goes out to all of your family both at home and the firehouse as I know that is a strong family also...God Bless
