Obituary for Doris A. Ziegler (Sowers)
Doris A. Ziegler, 84, of Red Hill, passed away Sunday, March 14, 2019 at Lifequest Nursing Center. She was the loving wife of Wesley W. Ziegler for 48 years.
Born in Quakertown, she was the daughter of the late George and Esther (Trout) Sowers.
She was a 1954 graduate of Quakertown High School and during her school years worked at Sines 5&10 in Quakertown. She then was a wonderful stay at home mom and Avon lady for many years before driving a school bus for Levy Bus Co. during the 1990’s.
Doris was a member of Christian Church Living Faith Fellowship in Souderton and a former member of Shepherd of the Hills in Bechtelsville where she enjoyed singing in the choir with her beautiful voice. She also enjoyed was part of an intercessor prayer team.
Her hobbies included making quilts for all of the children, crafting, sewing and vacationing at Bed & Breakfasts in New England and the sea shore in North NJ.
Surviving along with her husband are his son, Scott Ziegler and wife, Kathy; six grandchildren, Teanna and husband, William and Clifford and wife, Victoria; (Judy’s) Jason, Megan, Rebekah, Kevin and wife Tracy, one great-granddaughter, Cailean; two sisters, Carol Wackerman and Charlene Barton; and a brother, Ronnie Sowers.
She was preceded in death by her daughter, Judy Busker; a sister, Jane Myers; and two brothers, Stanley and George Sowers.
The family would like to invite you on Friday, April 26, 2019 for a visitation from 5:30 pm to 6:45 pm followed by a memorial service at 7pm at Living Faith Fellowship, 582 Moyer Rd, Souderton, PA 18964. There will be more time to gather with the family following the service. A burial will be private. Arrangements entrusted to Mann-Slonaker Funeral Home, 222 Washington Street, East Greenville, PA.
