Obituary for Dorothy W. Richard
Dorothy W. (Ziegler) Richard, of Perkiomenville, passed away on Sunday, December 19, 2021, at her home. She was 84 years old. She was the wife of the late Herbert K. Richard.
Born in Lower Frederick Township, she was the daughter of the late Clarence and Mae (Wood) Ziegler.
Dorothy was employed at New Hanover Upper Frederick Elementary School, where she worked in the cafeteria for 40 years. She was a member of St. Luke’s Lutheran Church in Obelisk where she volunteered at the church suppers for many years. She was also a member of the former Upper Frederick Fire Co. Ladies Auxiliary.
Dorothy enjoyed her time spent outside in her flower beds and loved spending time with her grandchildren and great-grandchildren; particularly attending any event in which they participated.
Surviving are her three children, Bruce Richard and wife, Sue of Perkiomenville, Gloria Bealer and husband, Gary of Boyertown and Stanley Richard and wife, Marlene of Perkiomenville; four grandchildren, Matt and wife, Jessica, Christi and husband, Corey, Joanna and husband, Dan and Bradley; four great-grandchildren, Luke, Kenzi, Grace and Connor; four siblings, Wes Ziegler, Laverne Ziegler and wife, Bonnie, Kathryn Hoffman and Marion Meyers and husband, Bill; and a brother in law, Bill Barr, widower of her late sister, Lorraine.
Services will be private for the family at this time, but a memorial service open to the public will be announced at a later date.
