Obituary for Dr. Augustine C. "Gus" Morano
Dr. Augustine C. “Gus” Morano, 81, of Pennsburg, PA, passed away peacefully at home surrounded by his family on Thursday, June 8, 2023. He was the loving husband of Margarette R. (Santangelo) Morano, with whom he shared 56 wonderful years of marriage.
Born in Germantown, PA, he was the son of the late Anthony and Josephine (Casciano) Morano.
Gus was a graduate of Norristown High School, received a Bachelor’s Degree in Biology from Villanova and earned a Doctorate in Podiatric Medicine from the former Pennsylvania College of Podiatric Medicine in 1969. Gus began his service to the Podiatry profession by opening his own practice on Germantown Pike in East Norriton and served the community for over 40 years before retiring.
Dr. Morano was a member of St. Philip Neri R.C. Church in Pennsburg along with many professional organizations. He enjoyed reading, exercising, especially jogging, and doing remodeling projects around the house. Most importantly, he loved spending time with his family.
In addition to his wife, he will be lovingly remembered by his four sons, John and wife, Kim, Paul and wife, Chrissy, Greg and husband, Forrest and Michael and wife, Simy; eight grandchildren, Olivia, Christian, Antonio, Pauly, Samantha, Jennie, Tori and Mia; and a sister, Toni Monteleone and husband, Tony.
A mass will be held at 11 AM on Wednesday, June 14, 2023 at St. Philip Neri R.C. Church, 1325 Klinerd Road, Pennsburg, PA 18073 with an inurnment following in Holy Cross Cemetery. A visitation will be held from 10 to 10:45 AM at the church prior to mass.
