Obituary for Ella Mae Stubanus (Wagner)
Ella Mae (Wagner) Stubanus, 88, of Reading, PA, passed away on Saturday, March 26, 2022 at Keystone Villa in Douglassville, PA. She was the loving wife of the late Richard R. Stubanus, sharing 54 years of marriage on their farm together before his passing in 2007.
Born in Gibralter, PA, she was the daughter of the late Lester and Kathryn (Helms) Wagner.
Ella Mae was a 1951 graduate of Birdsboro High School. She was a secretary for Leeds and Northup in North Wales, Pa for many years. After retirement, she worked in the Pro Shop at Macoby Run Golf Course and also participated in their Women’s Golf Club League.
She was lovingly known as “Aunt Mae” to her many nieces and nephews who survive her; Debbie Gaul, Carol Ann Stoudt, Craig Gaul and wife, Cathy, Richard Thomas and wife, Corinne and Roy Himmelwright and partner, Dolores. She also had many great nieces and nephews.
In addition to her husband and parents, she is predeceased by a sister, Betty Gaul; step-mother, Minnie; and a step-brother, Clarence Wagner.
A memorial service will be held at 11 AM on Thursday, March 31, 2022 at Mann-Slonaker Funeral Home, 222 Washington St., East Greenville, PA 18041 with a burial following in St. Paul’s Lutheran Cemetery in Red Hill. Family and friends may greet the family from 10 to 10:45 AM at the funeral home prior to the service.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made in her memory to the Alzheimer’s Association. In the memo please add PA Chapter and mail the donation to PO Box 96011, Washington, DC 20090-6011.
