George C. Hansell III, 63 of Pennsburg, passed away on Monday, March 16, 2020 at Grand View Hospital. He was the loving husband of Joanne Dunyan of 30 years; the proud father of Gabrielle Hansell; and the brother of Nancy Hansell and husband, Bryan Williams and Merele (Trares) and husband, John.

George was a 1974 graduate of Springfield High School in Erdenheim, PA and was employed at McNeil Consumer Products in Fort Washington as a packaging operator for 35 years.

In his spare time, George enjoyed birdwatching, caring for his two dogs, Heidi and Berkeley, and taking care of his horses. He also had a talent for drawing caricatures and making birdhouses, benches and signs.

From Merele Trares and Nancy Hansell
We are going to miss our funny, creative, kind and caring little brother George.
When we were young, he made up the alias “Hans Georsell” for himself.
He ran down the steps in his pjs to wish Merele “Happy kissing time!” just as her prom date arrived
He had a great sense of humor, a sparkle in his eye, and could be downright mischievous.
His humor could also be artistic, capturing folks in caricatures
He created with bentwood, designed and built birdhouses, and constructed a coy pond
Joanne and Gab, he cared deeply for you and was so concerned for your welfare. We know that it has been tough and that words may not help, but know that you are in our thoughts.
