George “Smokey” H. Hoppes, 71, husband of Mary M. (Goodwin) Hoppes, of Temple, passed away, Saturday, November 3, 2018 at the VA Medical Center of Lebanon.

Born in Reading, PA he was a son of the late George R. and Ida (Keller) Hoppes.

He was an auto mechanic and owner and operator of Hoppes Auto Repair in Muhlenbrrg Township.

Smokey also served in the United States Army during Vietnam.

In addition to his wife, he is survived by his two sons, Michael Hoppes and wife, Jodi and Brian Hoppes and wife, Shelly.

A memorial service will be held at 11:30 am on Thursday, November 8, 2018 at Spring Valley Church of God, 2727 Pricetown Rd., Reading, PA 19560.
