Obituary for Gerald R. Schoch

Gerald R. Schoch, 89, of Quakertown, passed away on Wednesday, June 15, 2022 at home surrounded by his family. He was the loving husband of Grace M. (Miller) Schoch, sharing 68 years of marriage together.

Born in Sellersville, PA, he was the son of the late Paul and Lillian (Fitzgerald) Schoch; and later a step-son of Viola Mumbauer.

Gerald was employed at AMETEK US Gauge as an assembler for 44 years before retiring in 1994. He was a member of Trinity Lutheran Church in Quakertown, PA.

He was an avid golfer and in his younger years was a member of a bowling league at Earl Bowl in Quakertown and played softball for Jerusalem Evangelical Lutheran Church of Almont, PA. Gerald’s happy place was working in his yard, being around his family and rooting for the St. Louis Cardinals or the Philadelphia Eagles.

Surviving in addition to his wife, are his three children: Terry Schoch and wife, Karen, Kathy Lewis and husband, Roger and Joni Cope and husband, Kenny all of Quakertown, PA; five grandchildren, Trisha, Tara, Chrissy, Michael and Lauryn; and six great-grandchildren, Ethan, Kaelyn, Eli, Cohen, Hayden and Landon. He is predeceased by siblings, Doris, Leatrice, Paul, Billy, Ronald, Fietta, David; and half-brother, Arthur.

A funeral service will be held at 11 AM on Tuesday, June 21, 2022 at Mann-Slonaker Funeral Home, 222 Washington St., East Greenville, PA 18041. A burial will follow the service in St. John’s Lutheran Cemetery in Spinnerstown, PA. Family and friends may attend a viewing from 10 to 11 AM at the funeral home prior to the service.
