Obituary for Grace Marie Bartholomew (Stevens)

Grace M. (Stevens) Bartholomew, 88, widow of Richard T. Batholomew, Sr., of East Greenville, passed away Sunday, March 31, 2019 in East Greenville.

Born in Frackville, PA, she was a daughter of the late James J. and Hanna Jane (Hinkle) Stevens.

Grace was a graduate of Kensington High School in Philadelphia and later became a Quality Control Inspector for Ford Electronics, retiring in 1990.

She was a member of St. Paul’s Lutheran Church in Red Hill.

In her earlier years Grace enjoyed shopping, going to the casinos, traveling and going on vacations with her family. She also enjoyed doing crossword puzzles, playing card games such as pinochle and camasta and she loved babies and animals.

She was a loving mother, grandmother and great-mother, great-great-grandmother and will be missed by everyone who knew her.

Surviving are her twelve children, Richard Bartholomew and wife, Debra, Frank Bartholomew and wife, Karen, William Bartholomew and wife, Linda, James Bartholomew and wife, Jessica, Susan Archer and husband, Wayne, Sandra Smith and husband, Thomas, Donna Jenkins and husband, Al, Sharon Landaverry and husband, Mario, Linda Houseknecht and husband, Craig, Cheryl Lafferty and husband, Michael, Jeffrey Bartholomew and wife, Tami and Grace Stoddart and husband, Joseph; 47 grandchildren; 101 great-grandchildren; 8 great-great-grandchildren; and a brother, Joe Stevens and wife, Cass.

In addition to her parents and husband, she is predeceased by her siblings, Hannah, Ruth, Reba, Florence, Margaret, Senora, James, Jeanette and Harriet.

A funeral service will be held at 9:30 AM on Saturday, April 6, 2019 at Salem Bible Church, 8031 Salem Bible Church Road, Macungie, PA 18062 with Pastor Kevin Schultz officiating. A burial will follow in St. Paul’s Lutheran Cemetery, Red Hill, PA. A viewing will be held the evening before on Friday, April 5, 2019 at Mann-Slonaker Funeral Home, 222 Washington St., East Greenville, PA 18041 from 7:00 to 9:00 PM and again Saturday morning at the church from 8:30 AM to 9:30 AM.
