Obituary for Gustavo A. Garcia
Gustavo A. Garcia, 68, of Hereford, passed away on Tuesday, October 20, 2020 at home surrounded by his family after a courageous fight against cancer. He was the beloved husband of Evette M. Cruz-Garcia, sharing 21 years of marriage together.
Born in Tegucigalpa, Honduras, he was the son of the late Ernesto and Trinidad (Garcia) Salgado.
Gustavo received a bachelor’s degree in Honduras and spent over 30 years at Largo Theater Company Incorporated building movie theaters around the country. He also helped build Ursinus College and a few high schools in the tri-county. He was also known to be a handy man; always willing to lend a helping hand with any home repairs.
In his spare time, he enjoyed bird watching, gardening, sightseeing and playing pool.
Along with his wife, he is survived by his four children, Alejandro Garcia, Lindajose Alvarez-Garcia, Martina Garcia and Zendayalyn Garcia; two grandchildren, Alejandra and Doris; sisters, Guadalupe Nunez Salgado, Reina Elizabeth Archila Salgado, Norma Archila; and his brothers, Jesus Ernesto Archila- Salgado and Carlos Archila. He is predeceased by a sister, Aida Archila Salgado.
A viewing will be held on Friday, October 30, 2020 from 5 to 6:45 PM at Mann-Slonaker Funeral Home, 222 Washington St., East Greenville, PA 18041. A private family service will be held following. Please offer sympathy to the family at www.mannslonakerfuneralhome.com.
