Obituary for Gwen J. Albert (Jones)

On Saturday, December 9, 2023, God called one of His Angels home. Gwen Jenelle (Jones) Albert passed away after an aggressive battle with cancer. She was preceded in death by her 2 sisters Gabrielle and Jennifer Jones. She is survived by her parents, Homer and Lori Jones of Palm Pa, her maternal grandparents, Harold and Joan Keyser and she resided in Boyertown with her Husband Dan and Children Kylee and Easton.

Gwen was most proud to be a mother to Kylee and Easton, often saying that was her greatest accomplishment and blessing. She loved being their mom more than anything. She would say that her relationship with Dan starting at Shenandoah University, where she played Soccer and Lacrosse, was a love story for the ages. They began dating September 23, 1993 and were married August 19, 2000. They were each other’s best friends and soulmates. Often saying that the relationship was a hallmark movie. Gwen was an adoption worker for the last 23 years. Her work as an Angel was completing families. There are many happy children and families out there due to her work. She never stopped caring and working for them.

Gwen asked Dan to memorialize her for Kylee, Easton and future generations. She is asking all friends and family to please send Dan a summary of how you met and any stories, they will be compiled into a book for future generations to see and feel who Gwen was.

Family and friends are invited to a visitation at Mann-Slonaker Funeral Home, 222 Washington St., East Greenville, PA 18041 on Wednesday, December 13, 2023 from 6-8 PM. A private graveside service for immediate family members will be at Huffs Church Cemetery, where Dan and Gwen were married. In lieu of flowers Gwen has asked that donations be made to one of three places: Valley Youth Soccer Club, PO Box 258, Red Hill, PA 18076, where she grew up playing soccer and traveling the world; Shenandoah University Soccer Team (www.su.edu), Winchester, VA, where she played collegiately and had so many great memories; or the Pearl S. Buck Foundation (www.pealsbuck.org) in Doylestown, PA, where her love for all people and adoption both domestic and international really flourished.

Her last wish was to never let her memory fade. Please always be in contact with Kylee and Easton, let them know that you are there for them and Gwen can work through you.
