Obituary for Harold R "Knute" Moyer
Harold “Knute” R. Moyer, 84, widower of Mildred (Bobinsky) Moyer, of Frederick, passed away Saturday, April 6, 2019 at Grand View Hospital.
Born in Sumneytown, he was a son of the late George W. and Stella (Kline) Moyer.
He was a 1952 graduate of East Greenville High School and a Veteran of the United States Army.
“Knute” was a maintenance painter for Fire Stone Tire and Rubber for 15 years and Occidental Chemical Corporation for 13 years until retiring in 1993.
He was a member of Frieden’s United Church of Christ in Sumneytown and a Past Master and 50 year member of Perkiomen Lodge #595 F&AM, 32nd Degree Mason and Valley of Reading Scottish Rite Masons.
Surviving are his step-children, Gail Fillman and husband, Donald of Red Hill and Adam D. Novicki and wife, Bonnie of Oley; seven step-grandchildren, Allen, Troy, Steve, Adam, Andrea, Kelley and JoAnn; four step-great-grandchildren, Alyvia, Ella, KelleyAnne and Christopher; and many nieces and nephews.
In addition to his parents and wife, he is predeceased by two brothers, Warren and Arthur Moyer and two sisters, Marylyn Ferketich and Cleta Sadorf.
A funeral service will be held at 11 am on Saturday, April 13, 2019 at Mann-Slonaker Funeral Home, 222 Washington St., East Greenville, PA 18041 with Rev. Deborah Schwartz officiating. A masonic service will be held directly before the funeral service at 10:45 AM. Family and friends are invited to a viewing from 9:30 am to 10:45 am. A private burial will be held for the family at a later date.
