Obituary for Helen M. Conway (D'Arconte)
Helen M. (D’Arconte) Conway, 94, of East Greenville, passed away Friday, August 25, 2023 at Mifflin Court Assisted Living in Shillington. She was the loving and devoted wife to the late Charles W. Conway, sharing 35 years of marriage together before his passing in 2000.
Born at home in Allentown, she was the youngest daughter of Oreste and Virginia (Andreassi) D’Arconte, proud immigrants of Italy.
Helen was a graduate of William Allen High School and then went on to work several jobs during her working career ranging accountant/bookkeeping at various large companies to receiving manager at Ames. Above her professional career, she took pride in being a wonderful wife and mother. She loved her family dearly and did everything she could to instill a sense of independence in them. She led by example, being one of very few women in her earlier years, to travel the world with her friends. She was independent and strong willed, yet her heart overflowed with love and compassion towards others; especially her two children, grandchildren and brothers and sisters.
Along with her passion of travel, she enjoyed playing cards with her friends from the “Crazy Eight’s,” bowling, ceramics and even ‘worked out’ at Curves every morning until she was 92.
Helen leaves behind a legacy of love and devotion in the hearts of her surviving family members: two children, Mark Conway and Dina Conway and wife, Marie; and her three grandchildren, Heather, Ryan, and Brooke Conway. In addition to her parents and husband, she is predeceased by four sisters and four brothers.
A funeral service will be held at 12 PM on Wednesday, August 30th, 2023 at Mann-Slonaker Funeral Home, 222 Washington St., East Greenville, PA 18041 with a burial following New Goshenhoppen UCC Cemetery, East Greenville.
