Obituary for Helen E. McCrae (Fischer)

Helen E. McCrae, 90, formerly of Pennsburg, passed from this life on April 18, 2020 at ManorCare in Allentown, PA. She was the wife of the late Albert C. McCrae of Pennsburg. They were married 59 years before his passing in 2012.

She was the daughter of the late Charles and Elsie (Prinz) Fischer.

Helen was born in Philadelphia in 1929. She was raised by her mother and grandmother. Upon graduation from Kensington High School, she worked at Sears Roebuck. She was married in September of 1953. In 1959, Helen and Al purchased a home in Marlborough Township Pennsburg. She was a homemaker and devoted her life to her family. Helen enjoyed walking, working in her garden, reading and doing jigsaw puzzles. She enjoyed baking bread, volunteering as a poll worker and at the Upper Perkiomen Library. Helen was known for her beautiful smile.

She was a member of St. John’s Evangelical Lutheran Church in Spinnerstown, PA, and former member of the Upper Perkiomen Valley Women’s Club.

Surviving are her children, Albert C. McCrae, Jr. of Quakertown, Matthew P. McCrae, husband of Amy of Emmaus, Lori K. Tallent of Emmaus; and grandson Dustin C. McCrae, husband of Sarah Martin of Washington D.C.
Helen was predeceased by two infant daughters, Susan and Rachel McCrae.

Due to the unprecedented circumstances presented by the COVID-19, services and interment for Helen will be private for immediate family.
