Obituary for Henry G. Schroeder
Henry G. Schroeder, 83, of East Greenville, passed away on June 13, 2021 at St. Luke’s Upper Bucks Hospital. He was the loving husband of Nancy J. (Mill) Schroeder, sharing what would have been 61 wonderful years of marriage this August.
Born in Newark, NJ, he was the only son of the late Walter H. And Ella M. (Merker) Schroeder.
Henry was a 1956 gradute of Penn Ridge High School, earned college credit from the National Radio Institute of America and proudly served his country in the United States Navy for four years. After being honorably discharged, he became a police officer and worked for the Chalfont Police Department before making a career as a foreman at Capital Controls in Colmar, PA for 20 years. He then went on to work at Doylestown, Dublin and Norristown Waste and Water Treatment Plants as an operator and also worked for his father’s business as an electrician. In his later years, he worked for Home Technology Systems installing emergency response systems.
He was an active member of Butter Valley Community Church in Bally where he was an Everence Steward advocate among many other volunteer roles and he was also a previous member of Deep Run Mennonite West Church in Perkasie. He was a member of Harley Owners Group, BMW of America, a member and past president of Bucks Co. Police Association and a past board member of Camp Men-o-lan.
Henry enjoyed riding his motorcycle, especially with his wife traveling the country. He also found enjoyment in hunting, fishing, camping, snowmobiling, and most importantly spending time with his family.
Surviving, in addition to his wife, are his two sons David G Schroeder and wife Monica of Harleysville, Jeffery Schroeder and wife Andrea of East Greenville as well as five grandchildren whom he adored: Kellye Schroeder, Jeremy Schroeder, and Ryan Schroeder and wife Katie, Megan Cunningham and husband Steve, and Lauren Schroeder.
A memorial service will be held at 3pm on Sunday, June 27, 2021 at Butter Valley Community Church, 2600 Old Route 100, Bally, PA 19503.
