Obituary for Herbert E. Oliver Jr.
Herbert E. Oliver, Jr., 97, of Perkiomenville, passed away on May 13, 2023 at Phoenixville Hospital-Tower Health. He was the widower of Ruth (Derr) Oliver.
He was born in Philadelphia to the late Herbert E. Sr. and Clara (Weber) Oliver. He was a Navy veteran, serving as an armed guard aboard merchant ships during WW II. Herb worked for many years in the warehouse of Western Electric until his retirement.
He was a proud member of the Telephone Pioneers of America Club, where he volunteered with many of their service projects. He was also a 32 degree Scottish Rite Mason with the Valley of Allentown and the Pole Benders Fishing Club.
Surviving is his son, Herbert E. III and wife Patricia, of Dillsburg; Cheryl, widow of Donald Weldon, of Perkiomenville; sister: Norma Bailey, of Elizabethtown; grandchildren: Heather, Kelly, Sheena, Jenna and Steven; great-grandchildren: Morgan, Parker, Grayson and Harper. In addition to his parents and wife, he was preceded in death by his great-grandson, Cole.
