Obituary for James A. Slack

James A. Slack, 59, of Barto, PA, passed away surrounded by his family on Monday, March 22, 2021 at Lehigh Valley Hospital Cedar Crest after a brief illness. He was the husband of Debra (Owen) Slack.

He was born in Phillipsburg, NJ to the late John H. “Jack” Slack Jr. and Helen (McDonnell) Slack, of East Greenville, PA. As a boy, he grew up helping on the family dairy farm. After graduating from Jefferson Davis Academy, Blackville, SC in 1979, he went to work to care and provide for his family. He worked for 26 years as a press operator at Brown Printing. He also was an antique dealer and BBQ Pit Boss. He was a loving Husband, Father and PopPop.

He was an active member of Salem Bible Church, Macungie, PA.

In addition to his wife of 40 years, he is survived by his daughters: Jamie L., wife of Lon Brinckman II, of East Greenville; Elizabeth A., wife of Steven Rogers, of Topton; Sarah S., wife of Moises DeJesus, of Sellersville; brothers: Robert, husband of Laurie Slack, of Fleetwood, PA; Lorne, husband of Susan Slack, of East Greenville; Lee, husband of Tina Slack, of Red Hill; and John III, husband of Nancy Slack, of East Greenville; grandchildren: Avery, Kylie, Regan, Tyler, Damir, and Lorenzo and many nieces and nephews.

Viewings will be held on Friday, March 26, 2021 from 6-8 PM at Mann-Slonaker Funeral Home, 222 Washington St., East Greenville, PA and Saturday, March 27, 2021 from 9-11 AM at Salem Bible Church, 8031 Salem Bible Church Rd, Macungie, PA 18062.
