Obituary for Joan McGuire (Mulligan)
Joan E. McGuire (nee Mulligan), 86, of Pennsburg, passed away Sat. Oct. 15 at her home.
Born in Philadelphia, Joan was the beloved daughter of the late Elsie Mulligan and step-daughter of the late Elias Andrews. She was predeceased by her brothers, Thomas (Archie) Mulligan and her beloved twin brother, Stanley Mulligan. Joan was also predeceased by her infant daughter, Yvonne.
Joan is survived by her children, Deborah, Kenneth (Patricia), and Jennifer McComb (William). She is also survived by her eight adored grandchildren, Christopher (Kathryn), Ashley, Alexander, Kelly, Jared, Regan, Griffin and Harper.
Affectionately known as “Joanie,” she delighted in spending time with her friends and family. She doted on her grandchildren and they, in turn, doted on their favorite Grandmom. She enjoyed playing the lottery, watching court television programs and catching up with friends – both old and new.
Per her request, her inurnment will take place in Oakland Cemetery in Philadelphia at the convenience of the family. A gathering to celebrate Joan’s life is being planned.
In lieu of flowers, donations in Joanie’s memory to the Montgomery County SPCA, 19 East Ridge Pike, Conshohocken, PA 19428-0222 would be appreciated.
