Obituary for Joan C. Scholl (Houseknecht)
Joan C. (Houseknecht) Scholl, 85, of Pennsburg, passed away on Wednesday, January 26, 2022 at Pennsburg Manor. She was married to her late husband, Richard N. Scholl, for 65 years before his passing in September. They were so in love and truly each other's life line and each other's compliment.
She was the daughter of the late Willis and Pauline (Piepszowsky) Houseknecht.
Joan was a 1955 graduate of East Greenville High School and worked at Knoll, Inc. in East Greenville for 17 years. She was member of St. Philip Neri R.C. Church in Pennsburg and was the Den Mother for St. Philip Neri Troop 591 in the 70’s.
She could always be found in the kitchen cooking or baking and she also enjoyed her camping trips with her husband and family.
She is survived by three children, Dale M. Scholl and wife, Kimberly of Pennsburg, Daniel N. Scholl and wife, Carla of Boyertown and Dean C. Scholl and wife, Lauren of Boyertown; seven grandchildren, Taryn and husband, Michael, Daniel, Aaron and wife, Casey, Ashley and husband, Derrick, Tracy and husband, Brad, Samantha and husband, Matthew, and Joshua; six great-grandchildren, Chase, Jack, Evie, Callie, Kira and Ian; and a sister, Patricia Albitz and husband, Harvey. She is predeceased by her daughter, Debra R. Cashatt; and a grandson, Clifford Cashatt.
A funeral service will be held at 11 AM on Friday, February 4, 2022 at Mann-Slonaker Funeral Home, 222 Washington St., East Greenville, PA 18041. A viewing will be held from 10 to 10:45 AM at the funeral home prior to the service. A burial in Holy Cross Cemetery in Pennsburg will be held on Sunday, February 6 at 1pm.
