Obituary for Joan M. Wood (Buck)

Joan M. Wood, 83, of Red Hill, passed away on Monday, January 27, 2020 at Grand View Hospital in Sellersville, with her family by her side. She was the loving wife of the late Robert J. Wood, sharing 58 years of marriage together before his passing in 2016.

Born in Finland, PA on July 17, 1936, she was the daughter of the late Jacob P. and Elsie L. (Stevens) Buck and sister of the late Paul J. Buck.

Joan was a 1954 graduate of East Greenville High School and in her earlier years she was an active volunteer of the American Cancer Society and the Jaycees. Joan loved her family dearly and enjoyed spending as much time as she could with them. She was a wife, mom and a homemaker with a joy of baking. She was a wonderful baker and helped out in the Kitchen Committee at St. Paul’s Lutheran Church, where she was a faithful member. After her youngest child entered school, she worked at
Woodson Dairy, the family business.

Surviving are four children, Donna M., wife of Brian Stever of Red Hill, Judy A., wife of Ryan Christman of Whitehall, Alan R. Wood and wife, Jane of Boyertown and Carol J., wife of Kenneth Klus of Bethlehem; eight grandchildren, Amy, Matthew, Laura, Sarah, Benjamin, Jennifer, Julia and Bryson; and six great-grandchildren, Dylan, Eva, Aubrey, Conner, Brielle, and Gianna. Two more great-grandchildren are expected in the spring.

A funeral service will be held at 11:30 a.m. on Friday, February 7, 2020 at St. Paul’s Lutheran Church, 1244 St. Paul’s Church Rd, Pennsburg, PA 18073 with Rev. Wayne Moritz officiating.
