Obituary for John W. Lesher III

John W. Lesher, III, 70, of Schwenksville, passed away on Friday, January 26, 2024 at the University of Pennsylvania Hospital. He was the loving husband of Lindalou (Arnold) Lesher, with whom he shared 47 years of marriage.

Born in Pottstown, he was the son of the late John W. and Arlene (Heimbach) Lesher, Jr.

John was a 1971 graduate of Souderton High School and after graduation found employment at American Olean Tile in Lansdale, Indian Valley Camping Center, Ernies Tires in Ambler and his last employment before retirement was doing administrative work in the wholesale tire department at Bergey’s Tire.

John was a member of St. Teresa of Calcutta Church in Schwenksville.

He was a boy scout in his youth and served as Assistant Scoutmaster in the Cradle of Liberty Boy Scout Council. A boy scout at heart, he enjoyed the outdoors and all it had to offer; including, hiking, skydiving, rollerblading, camping in the east coast and traveling on cruises and to the national parks. He also enjoyed classic cars, Lionel Trains, and helping with community activities.

John’s family was at the center of his life; he could always make them laugh with is sense of humor and he was very involved with his grandchildren. He enjoyed preparing holiday dinners for his family, was meticulous with the maintenance of his home, and loved his dogs very much.

In addition to his wife, he is survived by his daughter, Heather Bagby and husband, Steve of Harleysville; two grandchildren, Joshua Miller and Alaina Bagby; and his four siblings, Linda Gerhard and husband, Jerry, Dale Lesher and wife, Dorothy, Cheryl DeMichael and Wendy Miley and husband, Michael.

A memorial service will be held at 11 AM on Wednesday, February 7, 2024 at the Limerick Garden of Memories Chapel, 44 Swamp Pike, Limerick, PA 19468. A visitation will be held from 10 to 10:45 AM at the Chapel. Arrangements are entrusted to Mann-Slonaker Funeral Home, East Greenville, PA.
