Obituary for Joyce M. Zong (Mellon)
Joyce M. (Mellon) Zong, of Green Lane, PA, passed away on Monday, March 28,2022 at Pennsburg Manor. She was 89 years old.
Born in Cressen, PA, she was the daughter of the late Curtis and Kathryn (Skinner) Mellon.
Joyce was a very intellectual woman, earning a Bachelor’s Degree in English and Art from Indiana University.
She immersed herself in the arts and loved the English language. She loved music, puzzles, flowers and was an avid reader. Her creativity and artistic sense, drove her to become an interior designer. She worked for Colony House Furniture in Richmond, VA for many years. Prior to that, she was a teacher in Pennsylvania for a few years and then raised a family.
Surviving are her four children, Kim Frasch of Green Lane, PA, Thomas Zong of Green Lane, PA, Steven Zong and wife, Kimber of Bethlehem, PA and Holly Lowery and husband, Frank of Souderton, PA; her five grandchildren, Rachel and husband, Craig, Jessica, Katie and partner, Brandon, Donovan and Kaitlyn; and her three great-grandchildren, Clair, Billy and Amelea. She is also survived by her nieces and nephews, her “first children”, from NJ, that she happily doted on as her own before having her own children.
She is predeceased by her brother, Curtis Mellon, Jr.
