Obituary for June F. Smith (Hess)
June F. (Hess) Smith, widow of Richard A. Smith Sr., of Green Lane, passed away on December 4, 2019 at her home. She was 91.
She was born in Green Lane to the late Earl C. and Eva B. (Gilbert) Hess. Mrs. Smith was a homemaker. She was a member of Friedens UCC, Sumneytown, PA where she also taught Sunday School. While raising her children she volunteered with the Green Lane Elementary School PTA. June also loved gardening.
She is survived by her children: Sheila D., wife of Gary L. Freed, of Pennsburg; RIchard A. Jr., husband of RuthAnn, of Green Lane; and Shari D. Smith, of Green Lane; Sisters: Nancy L., wife of Charles A. Wetzel, of Harleysville; Diana C., widow of Harry D. Blank, of Palm; brother, Donald N., husband of Vicki, of Green Lane; five grandchildren, four great-grandchildren and several nieces and nephews. She was also preceded in death by a son, Michael A. Smith and brothers, Gordon W. Gilbert and Earl C. Hess Jr.
Services will be private at the convenience of the family. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made in her memory to Friedens UCC, 1011 Church Rd., PO Box 268, Sumneytown, PA 18084. Arrangements
