Obituary for Lamar D. Young
Lamar D. Young, 98, resident of Frederick Living, passed away on Monday, August 29, 2022 at Pottstown Hospital Tower Health. He was the loving husband of the late Margaret (Wagner) Young.
Born in Pennsburg, he was the son of the late Osborne and Elizabeth (Frye) Young.
Lamar was a graduate of Pennsburg High School and was employed at Merck Sharp & Dohme for 30 years before retirement. He was a veteran of the United States Army.
He was a member of St. Mark’s Lutheran Church in Pennsburg and an avid deer and small game hunter.
Surviving are his son, Jim Young and wife, Diana; two grandchildren, Michelle Young and Michael Young and wife, Kelli; and two great-granddaughters, Ava and Jenna Young. In addition to his wife, he is predeceased by his four brothers, Richard, Rodman, Kenneth and Lester Young.
Lamar will be laid to rest privately at St. Mark’s Lutheran Cemetery in Pennsburg. Arrangements are entrusted to Mann-Slonaker Funeral Home, East Greenville. You may leave online condolences and share memories at www.mannslonakerfuneralhome.
