Obituary for Lawrence J. "Larry" Concio Sr.
Lawrence J. Concio Sr., of Milford Twp., passed away on Thursday, July 14, 2022 with his family by his side at LifeQuest of Quakertown. He was the loving husband of Dorothy A. (Krause) Concio, with whom he shared 66 years of marriage.
Larry was born in Philadelphia, a son of the late Dominic and Rebella (Ricci) Concio. He served in the Army during the Korean War, stationed at Army Headquarters in Japan. Larry was a clerk and letter carrier with the US Postal Service in Roxborough before retiring in 1988.
Larry was a devout Catholic and member of St. Philip Neri Catholic Church, Pennsburg, PA. He attended New York-St. Lawrence Seminary in 1947-48 and graduated in Church Ministry from St. Charles Borromeo Theological Seminary in Philadelphia. He was member of the Knights of Columbus, volunteered at the Padre Pio Center in Barto, PA and served with Wissahickon Ambulance and Harmonville Water Rescue Unit.
In addition to his wife, he is survived by his children: Lawrence Jr. and wife Kathleen of East Norriton; Linda Wacker and her late husband, Charles of Philadelphia; Cheryl Conlen and husband Michael, of Barto; siblings: Francis Concio, Nicholas Concio and Eleanor McNamee and husband William. 5; grandchildren: Dana Zakrzewski and husband, Mark, Brian Concio and wife, Allison, Ryan Conlen and wife, Patricia, Darren Conlen and wife, Victoria and Lyssa Wacker; great-grandchildren: Jonathan, Peyton, Dean, Riley, Roman, and Maya.
A Funeral Mass will be held on Tuesday, July 19, 2022 at 11 AM at St. Philip Neri R.C. Church, 1325 Klinerd Road, Pennsburg, PA 18073 with a burial and military honors following in Holy Cross Cemetery. Friends may call at the church from 10-11 AM.
