Obituary for Leora H. Feick (Winkler)
Leora (Winkler) Feick, age 90, formerly of Zionsville, passed away peacefully at Frederick Living on Wednesday, September 4, 2019. She was the wife of the late Wesley J. Feick.
Born in Neche, ND, she was a daughter of Gus and Hulda (Bloch) Winkler. After attending Mayville State Teachers College, she taught for several years before moving to Germany with her husband as he served in the Air Force. Leora was a wife, mother and homemaker for her family as her husband’s career took them to North Dakota, Minnesota, Indiana and Pennsylvania.
She was a member of St. John’s Lutheran Church, Sumneytown, PA. She enjoyed crafts, puzzles, baking, traveling and was an avid Phillies’ fan. Most of all, she loved spending time with her family.
Leora is survived by her children: Julie Bannan and husband Jim, of Exton; Jane Detweiler and husband Gary, of East Greenville; Joan Mormon, of Red Hill; and Jeffrey Feick and wife Mary Ellen, of East Stroudsburg; Siblings: Beatrice Anderson, of Anoka, MN; Doris Kassenborg, of Moorhead, MN and Dennis Winkler and wife Janet, of Lakota, ND; grandchildren: Jodi Mormon, Lisa Staub and husband Nathan, and Laura Dzugan and husband William; step-grandson, Christopher Bannan and wife Christina; great-grandchildren: Mia Staub and Valerie Dzugan; step-great-grandchildren: Kimberly, Kevin, Cassandra and Savannah Bannan and many nieces, nephews and extended family. In addition to her parents and husband, she is preceded in death by a granddaughter, Jill Mormon and brothers, Lawrence and Lloyd Winkler.
Services will be private at the convenience of the family.
