Obituary for Lucile S. Jones (Fox)

Lucile S. (Fox) Jones, 95, of Palm, PA, passed away on Tuesday, November 9, 2021 at her home surrounded by family. She was the wife of the late Robert N. Jones, sharing 68 years of marriage together before his passing in 2018.

Born in Hereford, PA, she was the daughter of the late Edwin and Mary (Shultz) Fox.

Lucile was a graduate of East Greenville High School and later went on to hold several roles at Pillsbury for 28 years before retiring.

She was a lifetime member of Palm Schwenkfelder Church, served on the Diaconate for 6 years, and volunteered at church activities. In her earlier years, she served as an assistant Girl Scouts leader for several years and enjoyed crocheting. In retirement, Lucile traveled the country with her husband in their camper; they were blessed to travel to all 50 states. She was a member of the Upper Perkiomen Senior Community Center, volunteered at the Schwenkfelder Library and Heritage Center and Relay for Life, and was an active member of Partners for Community Preservation and the effort to defeat the Panda Perkiomen power plant proposal. She was always interested in saving and protecting the environment and spent many hours picking up trash along the streets around Hereford Elementary School. She was also an avid skier into her 80’s.

Surviving are three daughters, Gail A., wife of Robert L. Brown of Red Hill, Donna L., wife of Terry T. Sneed of Harrisburg and Robin M., wife of Charlie A. Hepler of Coopersburg; six grandchildren, Heath A. Brown, Timothy J. Laubach, Lori N. Davis, Stephen P. Laubach, Emily K. Mwaipopo, and Kristen L. Vigil; and eleven great-grandchildren, Tyler Bardo, Peyton Vigil, Cole Vigil, Hayden Brown, Kianna Mwaipopo, Bailey Bardo, Aaliyah Mwaipopo, Sabrina Laubach and Dylan Brown and Nasir Davis; a sister, Goldie Graber; and a brother, Arlington Pollock.

In addition to her husband and parents, she is predeceased by a great-granddaughter, Kimberly Conrad and two sisters, Florence Dean and June Smoll; and five brothers, Stanley, Earl, Austin, Curtis and Ray Fox.

A funeral service will be held at 2 PM on Sunday, November 21, 2021 at Palm Schwenkfelder Church, 833 Gravel Pike, Palm, PA 18070. A viewing will be held from 1 to 1:45 PM at the church before the service. We kindly ask you to wear a mask while in the church.
