Obituary for Marjorie D. Mastin (Bower)

Marjorie D. (Bower) Mastin, 82, of Telford, passed away on Monday, January 15, 2024 at Lansdale Hospital. She was the loving wife of Edward “Olin” Mastin, with whom she shared 59 years of marriage.

Born in East Greenville, she was the daughter of the late Daniel and Verna (Schultz) Bower.

After Marjorie graduated from Upper Perk High School in 1959, she eventually found employment in the East Greenville Pillsbury Refrigerated Pastry products division. She met her husband, Olin, while both were employed there in the early sixties. They were married in the Palm Schwenkfelder Church by the Reverand Martha Kriebel, September 5th, 1964. Then, in later years, she worked at Brown Printing for nearly 25 years and worked at Walmart in Harleysville until retirement in 2006 after suffering a stroke.

Marjorie taught in the Assembly of God Pennsburg Church in the “Missionettes” club Prims program for girls of the 1st and 2nd grade age group for several years in the eighties and nineties.

She was an active and faithful member of the Family Worship Center in Lansdale in later years after her and husband moved to Grundy Manor, Telford in 2011. She became active in the manor’s bible study group.

Marjorie devoted her life to her family and loved ones. She worked hard for her family and brought them all together with her delicious cooking and baking. She enjoyed hosting dinners and cooking from all the recipes she collected but also enjoyed dining out. Anytime spent with her family and friends, was cherished. She had a profound influence on those whose lives she graced with her presence; especially her grandchildren. She took great joy in helping to raise them and being an integral part of their lives.

She also found enjoyment in Perkiomen Tour Bus Trips, watching Jeopardy, Masterpiece Theater, and religious programs like The Gaither’s.

In addition to her husband, she is survived by two daughters, Sharon Mastin of Telford and Christine Mastin of Hereford; three grandchildren, Andrew, Emily and Kiva Mastin; and one great-grandson, Gauge Collins.

A funeral service will be held at 11 AM on Tuesday, January 23, 2024 at Mann-Slonaker Funeral Home, 222 Washington St., East Greenville, PA 18041 with a burial following in Palm Schwenkfelder Cemetery. Family and friends may attend a viewing beginning at 10AM. You may leave online condolences and share memories by visiting www.mannslonakerfuneralhome.com
