Obituary for Marjorie A. Schmoyer (Shupe)
Marjorie A. (Shupe) Schmoyer, of Martinsburg, WV, passed away surrounded by her family at her home on Tuesday, December 3, 2019. She was 79 years old.
Born in Allentown on May 22, 1940, she was the daughter of the late Howard and Myrtle (Snyder) Shupe.
Marjorie was a rural postal carrier for the US Postal Service for 26 years. She was a member of St. John’s Lutheran Church in Sumneytown.
She loved to oil paint. She also loved any and all animals, wild or otherwise. She loved to be near water whether at the beach or sitting by a slow running stream. However, her greatest love was for her children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
Surviving are her four children: Kelly Gleockler, Patrick Schmoyer and wife, Heidi, Matthew Schmoyer and wife, Karen, and Nicole Weeks and her husband, Dwayne; nine grandchildren Nathan, Erin, Amanda, Angela, Joshua, Sarah, Chase, Elleanna, and Isabella; nine great-grandchildren; a sister, Beverly Lupacchini; and a half-brother, Michael Fitzgerald.
A funeral service will be held at 11 AM on Wednesday, December 11, 2019 at St. John’s Lutheran Church, 3104 Main St., Green Lane, PA 18084 with Rev. Rebecca Schanely officiating. Burial will follow in Frienden’s Union Cemetery, Sumneytown. Family and friends are invited to a viewing from 10 AM to 11 AM at the church prior to the service.
