Obituary for Mary Jane Ford (Mendles)

Mary Jane (Mendles) Ford, of Red Hill, PA, formerly of Fords, NJ, passed away on Wednesday, December 11, 2019 at St. Luke’s Hospice House in Bethlehem. She was the loving wife of the late John R. “Jack” Ford, Sr., sharing 54 years of marriage together before his passing in 2011.

Born in Jersey City, NJ, she was the daughter of the late Theodore and Dorothy (Doran) Mendles.

Mary Jane was a 1954 graduate of St. Michael’s High School in Jersey City and worked for over 15 years for the Shubert Organization in New York City as the manager for Telecharge.

She was a member of St. Philip Neri R.C. Church in Pennsburg and Our Lady of Peace Church in Fords, NJ where she taught CCD for many years.

Mary Jane enjoyed knitting, cooking, painting, gardening and hosting holiday get-togethers, but above all of this, she loved her children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

Surviving are her three children, Joan Kulesza of Richland Twp., PA, Robert Ford of Red Hill, PA, and Eileen Barth and husband Don Barth of East Rockhill Twp., PA; seven grandchildren, John Ford, III, C.J. Kulesza and wife, Emilie, Kayleen Kulesza, Erin Miller and husband, Nate, Timothy Kulesza, Donnie Barth and Keri Barth, and two great-grandchildren, Charlie and Olivia Kulesza; son-in-law, Chuck Kulesza, daughter-in-law, Catherine Ford, a sister, Joan Hesnan, sister-in-law, Maureen Mendles; and many nieces, nephews and cousins. Mary Jane’s beloved son, John (Jack) Ford, Jr., joined her in heaven hours after her passing.

In addition to her husband and parents, she is predeceased by two siblings, Dorothy Christine and Richard Mendles.

A memorial funeral mass will be celebrated by Monsignor John Doran on Saturday, December 21, 2019 at noon at St. Helena R.C., 950 Grove Ave, Edison, NJ 08820. Cremation Services entrusted to Mann-Slonaker Funeral Home, 222 Washington St., East Greenville, PA 18041.
