Obituary for Moises J. Montalvo-Castro
Moises J. Montalvo-Castro, 59, of Hereford, passed away on Saturday, January 6, 2023 at Lehigh Valley Hospital-Cedar Crest.
Born in Yaucco, Puerto Rico, he was one of 12 siblings of the late Jose Montalvo and Rosaura Castro.
Moises was a carpenter and worked for Office Furniture in Queens, New York for many years before retiring and moving to Pennsylvania.
He was a member of Kingdom Life Family Center in Orefield and loved to fish and hunt. His greatest joy was his family. He cherished the time he spent with his children, grandchildren and fiancé, Karen E. Freitag. He was supportive, kind, loving and would do anything for them. He will be deeply missed by all who knew him.
In addition to his fiancé, he is survived by his four children, Jose Hernandez and wife, Jlicia, Niaomi Terwilliger and husband, Edward, Jeanette Montalvo and Denise Montalvo; eight grandchildren, Jovanni, Nathan, Sophie, Ralphie, Rose, Lily, Ryan and Isaiha; siblings, Francisca Rivera, Adam Montalvo, Mary Montalvo, Josephina Montalvo, and Tony Montalvo; and many beloved nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
He is predeceased by six siblings.
A funeral service will be held at 11 AM on Friday, January 12, 2024 at Mann-Slonaker Funeral Home, 222 Washington St., East Greenville, PA 18041 followed by a burial at St. Paul’s Lutheran Cemetery in Red Hill. Family and friends may attend the viewing beginning at 9 AM. Arrangements are entrusted to Mann-Slonaker Funeral Home.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made in his memory to Kingdom Life Family Center, 4333 Lime Kiln Rd, Orefield, PA 18069.
