Ralph John Fluharty, 88, of Perkiomenville, passed away on Tuesday, November 23, 2021 at home surrounded by family; finally reuniting in Heaven with his late wife, Carol Ann (Miles) Fluharty.

Born in Philadelphia, PA he was the son of the late Ralph H. and Edith (Ellis) Fluharty.

Commissioned in 1951 to the United States Navy, Ralph served his country honorably during the Korean War on the USS Black for four years. During his time in the military, Ralph was able to travel the world.

After being honorably discharged, he began his career at General Electric in Philadelphia as an electrical engineer for 37 years. He then went on to work for Aerotech as a job shopper for six years. In his later years, he served as the New Hanover Township Supervisor for 14 years.

Ralph loved doing things around the house and could usually be found working on remodeling projects on all the properties he owned. He was always building or fixing something; with his sons by his side. He also enjoyed time spent in his garden.

Surviving are his five children, Jim Fluharty of Ocean View, DE, Scott Fluharty and wife, Cathy of Millsboro, DE, Debby Brewer of Perkiomenville, PA, Mark Fluharty and wife, Adriene of Red Hill, PA and Kenny Fluharty of Perkiomenville, PA; two step-daughters, Kim Mcquillan and husband, Chris of Perkiomenville, PA and Kerry Rinehart of Bechtelsville, PA; nine grandchildren, Shannon and husband Jason, Jamie, Melissa and husband, Bryan, Taylor and husband, Matt, Kellyann and husband, Ricky, Ryan, Christina, Rylee and Kaitlyn; eight step-grandchildren, Miranda, Garrett, Cole, Trenton, Alexis, Bryce, Gavin and Elizabeth; five great-grandchildren, Cody, Mason, Tyler, Jameson and Rowan; a sister, Shirley Wybranski; a brother, Robert Fluharty and wife, Ruth; and a brother in law, Franklin Michener

In addition to his wife, he is predeceased by sisters, Dorothy “Dot” Michener and Edith Edelman; and a step son, Michael Abare.

A funeral service will be held on Friday, November 26, 2021 at 11 AM at Mann-Slonaker Funeral Home, 222 Washington St., East Greenville, PA 18041. A burial will follow in St. Paul’s Episcopal Cemetery in Oaks, PA. Family and friends may attend a viewing from 9 AM to 10:45 AM at the funeral home prior to the service.
