Sadly, we learned of Mr. Hendershot's passing while visiting the Dutchland Gallery last week. We had over the years acquired several of his prints and giclées. We had communicated via email for a while and we learned what a wonderful person he was. We went to the gallery to inquire about original watercolors and proudly bought one of his final paintings. We are traveling by motorhome and can't wait to get back to Oregon and mount it in a place of honor in our home. He will surely be missed, but his spirit will always remain within his amazing paintings. Doug and Charlotte Harms

To the Family of Mr. Hendershot, My husband and I send you our sincerest sympathies and loving prayers. We came to know Ray through his art , over 30 of his prints and giclee's grace our home and bring us joy on a daily basis. After sending him an email telling him how much we enjoyed his talent, Ray graciously invited us to his home where we met both him and his lovely wife Joan. While visiting we heard of how he started painting, viewed the originals of many of the prints we own and were privileged to watch him paint and have a print of that painting hanging in our home, we tell all who admire it "See that patch of grass? We watched him paint that in person" Ray was such a kind, genuine and humble person, he will be missed but we have the pleasure to remember him through his art for many years to come. We are saddened by your loss and send you love and prayers.
Sincerely, Linda and Jeff Grube, Birdsboro, PA

We are so very sorry to receive news of Ray’s passing. We are grateful to have copies of four of Ray’s paintings prominently displayed in our home. Being from the Gettysburg area, I am so happy that Ray has done such an excellent job capturing the farms and landscape of south eastern PA, and that we can enjoy his paintings in our home. Ray definitely touched our lives and his paintings will be treasured by generations. GOD Bless! Tony & Sheri Strickhouser - Monument, CO.

Very saddened to hear of Ray Hendershot's passing. He was an incredibly talented artist and a wonderful human being. I will think of him every time I look at his beautiful painting that hangs in my home. Rest in peace, Ray. I hope heaven is filled with art supplies!

I was blessed to have known Ray for so many years, working together at American Olean Tile in the 70’s and continuing to most recently seeing him at AO retiree luncheons when he was free to join the group. I still have one of his first paintings he sold at an AO “craft show” as it was called then, and the purchase price was $25! I bought 2 paintings and gave one to someone as a wedding present. As the years went, it was fun attending his gallery exhibits in New Hope and seeing his amazing talents continue to flourish. We are surrounded by his artwork throughout our home and coupled with the style that is so similar, we also have included Brad’s works of art, as we love Maine so much. Our condolences to the family; Ray was a very special, kind-hearted man who will be missed by many. Diane & Pat McGinness
