Obituary for Richard D. Mundy

Richard “Dick” Mundy, 88, of Gilbertsville, passed away on Tuesday, May 5, 2020, at home surrounded by his family. He was the loving husband of Nancy D. (Brunner) Mundy, sharing 58 years of marriage together.

Born in Shelly, PA, he was the son of the late Raymond and Elsie Mae (Kramer) Mundy.

Dick worked as a machine operator at American Olean Tile Co. in Quakertown for 25 years before retiring in 1992. Prior to that, he worked at Elkeles Cigar Box Co. in Quakertown.

Dick was a member of Palm Schwenkfelder Church.

Dick liked playing softball, horseshoes, and was an avid bowler. In his earlier years, he often went hunting and trapping. He was a kind and caring husband and father who enjoyed going to all of his children and grandchildren’s activities. Dick loved his family very much and will be missed by all that knew him.

Surviving along with his wife, are his two children, Cindy Biehn and husband, Thomas of Barto and Michael Mundy and wife, Brenda of East Greenville; five grandchildren, Eric Biehn, Brian Biehn, Stephanie Marks and husband, Bret, Christopher Mundy and Kaitlyn Mundy; one great-grandson, Bret Marks; two sisters, Florence Afflerbach and Doris Neiman; a brother, Charles Mundy; sister-in-law, Dottie Mundy; and brother-in-law,
Richard Nace.

He is predeceased by sisters, Margaret Hackman, Barbara “Mae” Afflerbach, and Eleanor Nace; and brothers, Raymond, Harold, and Walter Mundy.
