Obituary for Robert J. Motto

Robert J. Motto, 79, of Boyertown, passed away on April 28, 2020 after a short but brave battle with cancer.

Born in Bayshore, NY, he was the son of the late Joseph and Mary (LaVista) Motto.

Robert was a 1958 graduate of Islip High School in New York. After graduating, he enlisted in the United States Marine Corps and served his Country proudly for four years.

After being honorably discharged he began his career with Merk Sharpe & Dohme as a field engineer for many years before retiring.

In his spare time, Robert enjoyed photography, playing poker and watching baseball. He also had a deep love for animals, and was known to give monetary donations to many different animal foundations and organizations.

Surviving are his wife, Michelle Motto of Red Hill; two sons, Joseph Motto and wife, Jennifer of East Greenville and Adam Motto of Pennsburg; two grandchildren, Marilyn and Alex Motto; two great-grandchildren, Maxwell and Gracelynn Motto; his twin sister, Anne Gorman and husband, Thomas “Buzz”; and his brother, Nicholas Motto and wife, Mary.
