Obituary for Sandra E. Burks (Litzenberger)
Sandra E. Burks, 68, of Hereford, passed away on Saturday, April 3, 2021 surrounded by her family at her daughter’s home.
She was born in Allentown to the late Clarence H. Litzenberger and Mildred M. (Schmoyer) Litzenberger Miller.
Sandra worked as an assistant weaver at Bally Ribbon Mill, a production worker at Knoll, Hess’s South Management from 1970-1974 and many years as a quality control inspector at Federal Mogul from 1978-2008, before retiring.
Dedicated to her family, she loved spending family time with her children and grandchildren, Archer and Augustus. She also loved spending time with friends and was a talented at wood burning projects of various sorts and painting.
Sandra was a member of East Greenville Fire Company and Red Hill VFW.
Surviving are her children: Stephanie D. (Burks) Jurgelewicz and her husband Michael; Sean D. Burks and his wife Elizabeth (Kuhne) Burks; grandchildren: Archer and Augustus Burks; siblings: Richard Litzenberger, Glenn Miller and Elaine Perez. In addition to her parents, she was also preceded in death by a sister, Patricia Gehris and step father, George Miller.
A visitation will be held on Saturday, April 10, 2021 from 11-12 PM at Mann-Slonaker Funeral Home, 222 Washington St., East Greenville, PA. Social distancing and masks will be required. In lieu of flowers, an education fund has been established for her grandson, contributions may be made to the Sandra Burks Memorial Fund, 628 Gravel Pike, East Greenville, PA 18041.
